Here it is…the platinum blonde hair reveal finally on the blog! I know, I know. I can feel you shaking your head at me. Even though I had it done over Thanksgiving ‘19 in Puerto Rico by my long time friend and hair stylist Laura Om, and you’ve probably already seen it on Instagram, I am finally getting around to blogging about it. That being said, I must apologize for the dusty radio silence on here. Things have been crazy not only with work, but also with travels. I’ve also been considering a shift in blog content. Perhaps to include more lifestyle and travel. Bear with me, and keep up with every day stuff on my Instagram!
Back to the platinum blonde hair. As cliché as what I’m about to say sounds, this makeover has completely changed my life. It’s changed the way I feel about myself and how I carry myself. It’s also made me appreciate the simple things and develop an affinity for minimalism. Moving forward you’ll see me playing with basic pieces and different silhouettes, a lot of monochromatic, black, and white. And most probably a bold lip. Love the bold lip. What do you think? Be honest. I’ve had the beachy carefree brown locks my entire life, so I know this is drastic. But I can’t help it, I crave change! Change is good!
Another reason it’s taken me so long for the grand reveal on the blog, is because I needed to be in the right time and place in order to convey the right images…so during my recent travels to New York City, I met up with the lovely Kivvi for the first time ever to take these. Even though we both attended University of Miami years ago, we had never met before. Thanks to a mutual friend, we connected online and wandered the West Village streets together for this series of portraits. Kivvi has an amazing eye, aesthetic, and overall vibe; and like me, finds beauty in simplicity. She used the following quote to sum it up:
“In character, in manner, in style, in all things, the supreme excellence is simplicity.” – Henry Wadsworth
I hope you dig my new look, and that you’ve had a wonderful holiday. As 2015 approaches, along with my 29th trip around the sun (I’m a New Year’s baby), I welcome a new year of bold moves, more gratitude, new friendships, more traveling and yes, consistent blogging. How about you? Remember, it’s the simple things.
